Which Way - Post (really post) Jam Update
Which Way » Devlog
I submitted this entry in the GMTK 2020 Game Jam and after (not) working on it for over a year, I've given it an update!
- Gameplay fixes - instead of the block being picked up or placed automatically when walking into them, the player will now be able to pick up blocks and place them where and when they see fit. I managed to fix the issue where the block will be definitively placed within the block placement base when the player is stood over it while holding a block.
- Blocks - I've also fixed the issue with overlapping blocks in the original version where the oldest block to be placed in a pile will be prioritised. A little thing but it bothered me a lot...
- General presentation and level design - in the original submission the levels were laid out using a specific wooden post asset to create blocking between the player and your buddy. I've revamped this so that it feels more natural and more like getting lost in the woods.
So overall nothing major, I wanted to retain the feel of the original submission but tidy it up a little. Game is still probably about 5 minutes long (if that) so go ahead and enjoy!
